Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have extended their support to Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, following her revelation of cancer diagnosis on March 22, 2024.
A Message of Healing
“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” expressed Harry and Meghan in their statement, as reported by Page Six.
Kate Middleton, 42, had been away from public appearances after a planned abdominal surgery in January. She broke her silence with a video statement, thanking everyone for their messages of support and understanding during her recovery phase.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery,” said Kate in her video message.
A Tough Battle
Kate shared her journey, highlighting the tremendous support of her medical team and the challenging times the family underwent in the past few months.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,” shared the Duchess.
However, post-surgery, the doctors discovered the presence of cancer and suggested preventive chemotherapy, which Kate confirmed to be in the early stages.
Family’s Shock and Support
The diagnosis came as a shock to Kate and her husband, Prince William, who she acknowledged as “a great source of comfort and reassurance.” She further mentioned their efforts to manage and process the news privately with their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
“As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits,” said Kate.
Legal Implications
Kate may consider legal actions against The London Clinic over a security breach involving her medical records, as suggested by legal expert Neama Rahmani.
